NEARLY 500+ PC. COLLECTION AMERICANA FINE ART PUGET SOUND, SPOKANE (INLAND NW), AND MORE PAINTINGS

FOUR + DECADES I am a very passionate, prolific award-winning artist, creating acrylic-on-canvas paintings, pastel sketches, and pen and ink drawings in the friendly AMERICANA style for many decades. See dozens of FALL INTO WINTER images throughout this website with over 30 on my COMMISSION page (several NEW).

DUAL CAREER PATH I chose a rewarding dual career path, creating fine art and then using my digital graphic design skills to convert the finished images into prints, cards, calendars, jigsaw puzzles, and more. Digital design has changed the world dramatically since I finished my very first painting. With software like Adobe's Creative Suite (PhotoShop & In-Design), there's nothing you can't do with patience and imagination.

FIRST EXHIBIT I've painted, sketched and designed all of my life, introducing my work in the late 1960s when I was just 18. This exhibit took place through my association with the Holy Names Sisiters at Fort Wright College in Spokane, WA.

A BIG CHANGE IN MY LIFE My life changed substantially when I lost my wonderful husband of 23 years Doug in September 2023 after a 6 year battle with cancer. Most folks never knew how tough his battle was, as he was such an other-conscious, positive guy who really loved people and life. "It's all good," he'd say, regardless of how he felt. He believed in me and hugely supported my passion for creating in hundreds of ways, always with his engaging grin and "can do" attitude. How blessed was I?

Visit my BIOGRAPHY page for details on how my Americana art career began and developed over the decades. You'll learn about the people who helped me along the way (yes, Doug was at the top of that list), my awards, accomplishments, press clippings, involvements with several Washington State communities, charitable causes I've supported, and more. There are many settings and subjects I want to paint in the years ahead, and I hope Dougie's inspiring spirit stays with me.

Below I've shared a detailed list of all the fine art items available from this website. You'll also learn how to be on my VIP (Very Important Patron) List ~ plus information about the mailings I do each year.

PLEASE NOTE: I haven't changed pricing on many of my items for nearly a decade, but that may change this Spring as art supplies, printing costs, packaging and shipping have risen significantly.

I'M SO GRATEFUL TO MY FRIENDS, FAMILY AND PATRONS . . .

2024'S THREE FESTIVE HOLIDAY MARKETPLACES Thank you to everyone who braved the Winter elements and came to do their Holiday shopping at these three festive marketplaces. As we move into this 2025, see my ART VENUES page for details on possible future events. Hope to see you again soon!

With my very gradual healing in past months, I've found that painting has helped me take consistant small steps forward towards more balance. I am hopeful for a gradual higher presence in 2025 as I did only one event the year I lost Doug. My wish is that I can continue creating my friendly heartfelt paintings well into the future. You'll find lots of NEW images on cards and in my 2025 calendars. Plus there were two NEW puzzles (one SOLD OUT) during the Holiday "Meet & Greets" and in the retail venues. URGENT CAUTION! SUNLIGHT IS THE ENEMY ALL FINE ART, both originals and any kind of reproductions (canvas and fine art paper) lose their intensity if hung where subjected to sunlight. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule for most fine art, although with paper prints, some types of non-glare glass allows this damage to take longer to occur. Unfortunately NOTHING protects completely.

EXAMPLE I finished a very ambitious acryic-on-canvas portrait of a vacation property that included lots of famiy members and other very personal details. When I delivered the piece, the family wanted to display it on the fireplace mantle of their liviing room. I advised them not to, as the sun from their picture window and skylight reached a portion of the artwork several hours a day.

A few years later, they asked me to come look at their original to see if I could fix the section damaged by the sun. Sadly, I replied that it was an impossible "fix," advising them that I'd have to re-paint all of the faded section (over half the scene) so it could seamlessly match the protected part. Since I had the sunlight issue when I delivered the artwork, suggesting another spot for displaying thier art and why, this was a very tough lesson. Few artist wills agree to repaint, especially if they've warned their clients. A client's mistake is NOT the artists reponsibility.
