50+ YEARS OF CREATING AND EXHIBITING 500+WORKS OF AMERICANA ARTFeatured on my PUGET SOUND, SPOKANE (INLAND NW), AND MORE PAINTINGS

FIVE DECADES I am a passionate, prolific, award-winning artist, creating acrylic-on-canvas paintings, pastel sketches, and pen and ink drawings in the friendly Americana style for 5+ decades. See dozens of SPRING INTO SUMMER images throughout this website with over 30 on my WHAT'S NEW page and more on my COMMISSION (several NEW!). The art (left and shared throughout this website) portrays a neighborhood cottage and patriotic parade.

DUAL CAREER PATH From the beginning, I chose a dual career path which included art directing and graphic design for four major companies plus creating fine art works, and then using my design skills to convert these into prints, cards, calendars, jigsaw puzzles, and more. Highlight! Digital design has changed our world. With Adobe's Creative Suite (PhotoShop & In-Design), there's nothing you can't do!

MY FIRST EXHIBIT I introduced my Americana work in Autumn 1975 at the Bellevue Art Gallery near Seattle. Although there were a few small Spokane shows at Holy Names Academy and Fort Wright College, this was my first gallery exhibit as one of their ongoing artists-in-residence for several years. I unveiled my "227 WEST 25TH" portrait of Spokane's historic Codd House (my favorite childhood home) at my first show there (see my BIOGRAPHY page).

LIFE'S CHANGES In 1997, I met my prince of a husband Doug in Bellevue, WA. We married in 2000, living "happily ever after." Who knew our 25-year window of joy would end so quickly? Most didn't know how tough his 6-year Sarcoma cancer battle was as Doug was such an other-conscious, positive guy. "It's all good," he'd say, regardless of how he felt, his engaging grin and optImism there until the end in September 2023. I'm SO grateful and blessed he chose me Doug was one of the good ones . . .

Visit my BIOGRAPHY page to learn how my career began and developed over the last 60+ years. See who helped me (Doug was at the top of that list), my accomplishments, awards, press clippings, community involvement, causes I support, and more. There's still so much creating I want to do I hope Doug's inspiring spirit stays with me.

MOVING FORWARD Below I've shared a detailed list of everything available from this website. I've also shared info on how to be added to my VIP (Very Important Patron) list PLUS details on a couple mailings I usually do each year. PLEASE NOTE Prices haven't changed on most items for over a decade, but you'll find a few increases this year as art supplies, printing costs, packaging and shipping have sadly all risen significantly over time.

FUTURE FESTIVALS AND GRATEFUL GREETINGS TO LAST YEAR'S HELPERS!

NOTE MY PARTICIPATION CANCELLED JUNE 13TH "33 ARTISTS" MANITO PARK ART As Sally Mom's June 10th 99th birthday conflicted with the" 33 Artists Art Festival" on Saturday, June13th, even though I was to appear there, I realized it would be too much with a houseful of guests and activities to give the market the attention it needed. Family comes FIRST. I hope to see you at another of the venues above. THANK YOU for your very kind support.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED ME LAST SEASON

ROCKWOOD EXHIBIT & OTHER HOLS EVENTS I'm so grateful to all associated with my October 2025 to February 2026 exhibit at Rockwood South Hill by Lincoln Heights. It celebrated my 50+ years creating and exhibiting my art of local Inland NW settings, others in the U.S.A., and beyond my most ambitious one since 2017. The exhibit featured 50+ pieces divided into in nine themes honoring the four seasons. Beginning with a lecture with highlighting my 5-decade career, I was also invited to appear at Holiday Marketplace. I recently learned I will be at their Holiday Sale again this Autumn!

I am especially grateful to Lance Mantese, Mary Doohan, and everyone on the Rockwood staff who were so helpful during my appearance. Thanks also to so many of you who came to see me at the Holiday Festival at Arbor Crest Cellars and Manito Country Club.. Your kind patronage meant so much. NOTE As traveling to Idaho for Hayden Lake Country Club's festival proved to be too hazardous with December's ice weather, so after nearly a decade appearing there, I chose to no longer participate. Without Doug's help, travel to Idaho was just too hazardous.

MY GOAL MOVING FORWARD Blessedly, painting has helped me take steps gradually forward healing. My hope is that I can continue creating my friendly, heart-warming, detailed fine art well into the future. It brings me such joy.

CAUTION! • SUNLIGHT IS THE ENEMY OF ALL FINE ART WITH GLASS THE ENEMY OF CANVAS

ALL FINE ART, both originals and any kind of reproductions (canvas and fine art paper) lose their intensity if hung where they're subjected to sunlight. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule for most fine art, although with paper prints, some types of non-glare glass allows this damage to take longer to occur. Unfortunately, nothing protects completely.

SUNSHINE EXAMPLE I finished an ambitious acryic-on-canvas portrait of a vacation place picturing lots of family members and personal details. When I delivered it, the family wanted to display it on the living room's fireplace mantle. I advised them not to, as sun from their picture window and skylight lit part of the art several hours each day. Some time later, they asked me to look at their original to see if I could fix its sun-damage. Sadly, I replied this was an impossible fix, as I'd have to completely re-paint over half the setting to achieve a seamless match. As I'd warned them about sun damage (plus it was noted on the artwork's back label) this was a tough lesson. Few artists will re-paint, especially if they've warned clients. NOTE A client's mistake is NOT the artist's responsibility.

GLASS EXAMPLE A friend insisted on hanging her fun little acrylic portrait of her kitty in her newly remodeled kitchen a nice fit as it echoed the new color scheme. Worried about grease spots damaging it, a friend advised Maria to have non-glare glass installed inside the frame. On a visit, I included the matching kitty art card as a hostess gift. She was shocked at how different her painting looked next to it in just a few months another tough lesson.
